⚪️ About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Event Manager to join our team at the wonderful Kempton Park Racecourse. This role is crucial in overseeing and implementing the planning, organisation & presentation of all race days & events. This role will ensure high standards of site presentation, excellent customer experience & management of H&S, the logistics and relationships with customers, contractors third party partners and stakeholders.

🟢 The Event Manager will

  • Carry out the preplanning, execution and delivery of events at the Racecourse, ensuring that cross department liaison is effective in delivering an efficient, cost-effective operation that always exceeds customers’ expectations.
  • Work on events and race days as and when required by the rota to ensure the running of the event is in a safe and efficient manner. Ensuring comprehensive event checks are undertaken to ensure the venue is presented to the highest presentation and safety standards.
  • Liaise with event organisers regarding their requirements, providing technical and logistical information about the venue and advise on floorplans, including facilitating site visits when required.
  • Ensure facilities are fit for use for the client/guests prior to their tenancy, including set-up of audio-visual equipment.
  • Create purchase orders, check and certify invoices and control expenditure, whilst seeking to improve profitability.
  • Use the event management system to create comprehensive, detailed function sheets, accurate to specific event requirements in a timely manner and share information with key partners.
  • Work with the sales team to ensure seamless customer experience for conference and events, from handover of booking to delivery, ensuring the requirements of the customer are always paramount but also fully utilising upselling opportunities to increase profitability.
  • Ensure any maintenance issues are reported promptly to the facilities team, through due process.

  • Full/clean driving license essential.
  • Play a crucial role in overseeing and implementing the planning, organisation& presentation of all race days and events.
  • Great team player with an eye for detail who can take ownership and responsibility for events and projects.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and prioritise work schedules.
  • Impeccable time management
  • Confident communicator who feels comfortable interacting with a varied range of stakeholders.
  • A flexible approach to meeting the needs of the business, willing to work weekends and evenings in line with operational requirements.
